Thai cuisine is full of flavors, textures, and aromas that captivate the senses and delight food enthusiasts worldwide. Renowned for its bold combinations of sweet, salty, spicy, and sour elements, Thai food offers a culinary adventure. The first time I visited Thailand was back in 2017, and I immediately fell in love with their cuisine.     As a food enthusiast, I immediately searched for what Thai dishes contain. The burst of flavors are really impressive. The flavors they generally tend to use are, Sweetness: Often derived from palm sugar, fresh fruits like mangoes, or sweet chili sauce. Saltiness: Enhanced by ingredients such as fish sauce or soy sauce. Spiciness: Chili peppers are a staple, adding many degrees of heat to dishes. Sourness: Citrus juices like lime or tamarind paste lend a tangy punch. Bitterness: Bitter melon or Thai herbs contribute a subtle bitterness that complements other flavors.   Pad Thai, Tom Yum soup, and Green Curry, ...

Campus Chronicles

Image
Maliha Mahreen Shah Id: 24103077 Section : 29  Campus Chronicles      As I sat in a lonely corner away from the commotion of the cafeteria waiting for my morning coffee to cool, a constant stream of new faces passed by. A group of freshmen laughed without a care in the world while heading to class. A couple bickered, but too far away from me to hear why. A senior walked by readjusting the bag strap on his shoulder, seemingly alone and tired, like me. I was alone waiting for my friends to get to the campus and tired from the all-nighters I had pulled the last few days but why was he tired and alone? Why was the couple bickering? What were the group of friends laughing about? These fleeting questions in my mind passed by as did the countless people infront of me.   cafeteria  As I stood  amidst  a sea of books in the library looking for my next read, I noticed…another student memorized and repeated Economic theories    at the speed of ligh...

Image
Traveling exposes us to diverse cultures, lifestyle and perspectives. Recently i had the opportunity to visit  Yiwu_International_Trade_City   of China with my father. Our aim of this journey was to explore the vast wholesale market of Yiwu for import purposes related to our business in Bangladesh. Yiwu's unique charm, culture, scenic beauty left an indelible mark on our hearts. Our journey began with a flight from Dhaka to Guangzhou and then with the transition to Yiwu. It is located in the central part of of Zheijiang Province which is globally renowned for its International Trade City , one of the largest wholesale markets in the world.  When i arrived the first thing that struck us was the city's organized structure like the wide roads, clean streets and mordern buildings with traditional chinese architecture , creating a unique blend of old and new. Our primary reason for visiting Yiwu was to explore its wholesale markets. The Yiwu International Trade City also known...

The Dual Impact of Fast Fashion

Image
Tasnim Binte Zahid 242050430 Shareen Haque 24105009 Section :29 Fast fashion means production of clothes that are cheap to make and last a long time using cheap materials that are not biodegradable or good for the environment. Fast fashion is a growing trend amongst businesses as they can make a subsequent profit with less cost and labor. Even though it is not the best alternative for our environment it shows profit. In Bangladesh it can be seen that various businesses produce clothes based on the ongoing trend and sell it at a cheap price. Fast fashion demands quantity over quality as the trend lasts a short period of time. The quality of these products are not up to date. It can often be seen that suppliers are using polyester for such clothes . In an economic standpoint its beneficial to the county but harmful for the environment. Fast fashion is often referred to as the devils fashion as its addictive yet bad for us. Fast fashion with its rapid growth is highly lucrative for reta...

Trees Are Bleeding

Image
Name: MD Soaib Ahammad ID: 24104056 Once Bangladesh was known for its greenery and biodiversity, but at present, Bangladesh is known for its high temperature and deforestation. We know that Bangladesh is a highly populated country. However, do we need to sacrifice these many forests to live and grow? Bangladesh lost 3,530 hectares of humid primary forest from 2015 to 2023,  Global Forest Watch . Similarly, numerous forests and hillsides are cleared to construct buildings and projects. Big companies are taking land as they are expanding their business just as the government is destroying reserved forests. I visited Bandarban, Sajek Valley, and Sylhet in 2016. Back then, these places were lush with trees and forests, and the weather was pleasant, creating a peaceful atmosphere. However, during a recent visit to Sajek Valley and Bandarban, I noticed a notable difference. The once lush landscapes now have significantly fewer trees, making the area unbearably hot. The recent...

Unforgettable Bike Tour And Tales

Image
Md. Shadman Shakib Shifath ID: 24121040 Section: 29 Unforgettable Bike Tour and Tales Last winter, my friends and I decided to go on a bike tour that we would never forget. We packed our bags with essentials, got our bikes ready, repaired our bikes and set out early in the morning to explore the beautiful countryside. The first thing that attrack us was the fresh morning air and the sight of the sun rising over the fields. The sun light made everything look magical and beautiful. We went through quiet villages where people waved at us, past  green farms, and along winding roads that seemed to go on forever. One of the best parts of our trip was finding a beautiful lake. It wasn’t on any map, and we discovered it purely by accident. We heard the sound of water and followed it until we found that . The water was clear and cool, and we couldn’t stop taking a swim. It was the perfect place to rest and enjoy nature’s beauty. Another unforgettable moment was the hospitality we pat...

Deforestation

Image
Deforestation is basically humans cutting down trees for their needs   and wants.  Deforestation is one of the most common phenomena in our country and the worldwide also. Deforestation is manmade and sometimes due to manmade defaults as well. Deforestation has multiple reasons. The most critical reason I would mention is urbanization. Urbanization means the shift of population to a better place from the place they used to live before. More specifically from rural to urban areas. That means the rural places are converted to urban areas slowly and for that a vast area is needed. That vast area is created by chopping down trees, the nature is slowly being destroyed due to urbanization. As the population grows the demand for housing also grows and so do the industries and infrastructure increase. Another reason that should be mentioned is logging, as wood is needed for furniture production and construction . Legally there is a certain percentage of logging, but there are ill...

Sisterhood: The Purest Bond

Image
Name: Sha-Ira Islam Samiha Id: 24136006 Sec:29 We all have heard about brotherhood but for me it is sisterhood. Sisterhood is the purest bond in this world. It is a special bond that transcends mere friendship. The person with whom you can fight for anything, for whom you can fight with the entire world. The closest person to your heart who knows you more than yourself.    I have an elder sister who is my biggest support system. She is actually all in one in my life. My sister, friend, guardian as well as crime partner. She scolds me for any kind of wrong activity but also can encourage me to do some mischief. I have always found her beside me whenever I needed her and also when I didn't need her. She was, is and surely will be there for me always. I have some guilt for not being a good sister for her as I was not there for her when she needed me. Maybe I am still not doing my best but I want to. I want to be there for her entire life as she was there for me. My childhood was...
