If something reintroduces the name Bangladesh on the world stage, that is the Bangladesh cricket team. Cricket in Bangladesh isn’t just a sport; it's a passion and emotion that runs through the veins of millions of people. The official name of the Bangladesh Cricket Association is BCB, but people affectionately call them the Tigers. Since the very beginning, it has come a long way, but unfortunately there haven't been any major achievements. They couldn’t win a single international trophy. It is the biggest dejection for both the Tigers and their fans like me. As a biggest fan of Bangladesh team, It’s my dream to see a trophy hold by them.

In this blog, I will briefly talk about the journey, memorable moments, ups and downs, and challenges the Bangladesh cricket team faced.

Bangladeshi players played cricket even before the independence of Bangladesh in the then Pakistan cricket team. But officially, Bangladesh played their first ever ODI international against Pakistan in 1986. The Bangladesh T20 journey began in 2006. Also, they acquired test status in 2000, which made them a complete package in international cricket.Since then, they have played a lot of matches but, sadly, won very little. But among them, some are memorable enough. I can talk about the 2010 T-20 Asia Cup final and the ODI World Cup 2019, in which Bangladesh qualified for the first time for the quarterfinal round.

Now, I want to talk about the ups and downs of the Tigers and the challenges they have faced and are still facing. Though Bangladesh started with a very narrow opportunity, within some years they produced some international-standard players. Also got recognition in every edition of international cricket. In between those times, they also won against some top-listed cricket teams. As far I remember, the 1990’s decades were the golden era for BD cricket. But due to a lack of potential players, lack of dedication and body fitness, corruption, and nepotism inside the BCB, the Tigers ultimately couldn't gain real success in the long run.

Hopefully, Bangladesh have the number-one all rounder among the world, The name is Sakib Al Hasan. Under his shadow, we start dreaming again. Now Bangladesh also has some youngsters who are very dedicated to winning. If the Bangladesh cricket team could find the solution to their degradation and uphold their morals to win for the nation, they could be a potential threat to any opponent.

In conclusion, Bangladesh is still in transition, with a mix of experienced players and promising youngsters, and their journey is a testament to passion and the pursuit of excellence. I hope ,as they continue to rise, challenges will arise and shape their future. Also I wish ,The tigers will continue to roar, fascinating the fans worldwide.
